The award recognises the UK’s most-loved campsite and this year Holme Valley rose above the competition, securing the top spot thanks to its stunning setting, exceptional facilities and longstanding commitment to environmentally conscious camping.
Nestled in a peaceful wooded valley on the edge of the Peak District National Park, the family-run, 16-acre site earned praise from voters for its blend of natural beauty and high-quality amenitites. Guests highlighted the site’s tranquil meadows, fishing lake, wildlife-rich woodland and easy access to local walking routes, including the Pennine Way.
Holme Valley has also been recognised for its eco-credentials, holding the David Bellamy Gold Award for many years and maintaining strong wildlife and habitat protection across the park. Jack Hart, from Out & About Live, added, “The fact that this award was decided by a public vote lends extra kudos to Holme Valley – it really is a mark of excellence, showing clearly that campers and tourers have enjoyed brilliant holidays here.
“This award is very well deserved, as the team at Holme Valley have created a high-quality campsite in a stunning natural environment.”
Visitors enjoy two heated amentities blocks with underfloor heating, accessible showers, family bathrooms, a licensed shop, a laundry, a children’s adventure golf course and the popular crazi-bugz woodland track. The site also includes glamping cabins and a wide choice of pitches for motorhomes, caravans and tents. The park’s location is minutes from Holmfirth, where the popular television series Last Of The Summer Wine was filmed, but it’s also a favourite among walkers, who explore the River Holme and the surrounding Pennine Hills.
