The rise places West Sussex among the fastest-growing areas in the UK for leisure vehicle interest, as more people look to combine travel freedom with comfort, family time and lower-cost/UK-based holidays.
This May, that trend comes to life in West Sussex, as Campervan Campout 2026 returns to the South of England Showground, from 1st to 3rd May 2026. Now in its fourth year, the festival is one of the UK’s largest gatherings of the camping and outdoor community – combining live music, camping, wellness, workshops and a full family programme, alongside a large display of campervans and motorhomes.
This year’s line-up already features Marvin Humes delivering his Noughties Baby DJ set and international performer Ellie Sax, with more headline acts still to be announced.
Sally Dodds, Head of Events at Out & About Live, added: “West Sussex has seen a remarkable rise in interest in motorhomes and campervans – one of the biggest in the country. People here clearly value time outdoors, shared experiences and the freedom to travel in a way that fits family life.
“Campervan Campout isn’t just a festival, it’s a celebration of that lifestyle; It brings together music, creativity, community and the wider enjoyment around UK staycations.”
