Staff raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease Association

GENEROUS Warners Group Publications employees have dug deep into their pockets to help two colleagues raise more than £2,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

The charity is close to the heart of staff members Claire Tupholme and Katie Goulding and their friend Annabel as another friend Charlie was diagnosed with the disease three years ago at the age of 26. Since diagnosis Charlie has campaigned to raise awareness of a cruel disease which leaves a sound mind trapped inside a failing body.

On the 13th September 2014, the three fund-raisers walked 25km from Runnymede to Cookham as part of the Thames Path Challenge. And through sponsorship, a raffle and selling cakes during The Great Office Bake Off! at the company’s offices in Bourne, Lincolnshire, they were able to raise a staggering £2015.96 (including Gift Aid).

Claire said: ‘This is way above any amount we had ever imagined and we are so grateful to everyone who supported us. The walk was a great event, through a beautiful riverside location and we are immensely proud of everyone who took part.’
