The Swift Trekker 540, designed and built in Cottingham, East Yorkshire, has been crowned Motorhome of the Year 2026, one of the highest accolades in the UK motorhome industry.

Chosen by editors from Out & About Live, MMM and What Motorhome, the Trekker 540 stood out for its bold exterior styling, contemporary interior design and a layout that mixes wide-ranging appeal with real-world usability.

Judges praised Swift for taking a confident design step forward, delivering a model aimed squarely at modern holidayers who want campervan agility with full motorhome comfort. Rachel Scholes, Awards Judge and Deputy Editor, MMM, “I like bright colours and airy, modern designs, and this Swift is the complete opposite with all sorts of shades of grey, but it just works here.

“Add in the neat design touches, like a good-sized bed that comes down very low and it makes for a winning combo.”

Daniel Attwood, Awards Judge and Managing Editor, MMM, “Such a distinctive and well-executed exterior design, combined with an impressive standard specification and an ideal layout – which is so well suited to couples, but can accommodate four occasionally – makes this latest Trekker simply unbeatable.”

Peter Vaughan, Head of the judging panel, Editor, What Motorhome, “It’s great to see Swift’s designers being brave, perhaps even braver than they were with the Trekker campervans. The success of those models has emboldened the company to bring us more contemporary design that’ll appeal to a younger buyer.”

A spokesperson from Swift added, “We are absolutely delighted that the Trekker 540 has been named Motorhome of the Year. This accolade is a huge endorsement of our vision to combine campervan style with motorhome comfort – offering bold styling, practical design and real adventure readiness. The award recognises the talent and dedication of everyone at Swift, and we’re proud that the Trekker delivers exactly what modern travellers want: a motorhome that’s versatile, stylish and ready for the open road.”
