If you are thinking about a career with Warners you’ll no doubt be curious about what kind of business we are and how we have grown to be such a large and successful publisher.
Here’s a little more about us:
Our History:
Warners Group Publications plc has been established for 20 years. We began in 1988 trading as Warners Group Sales Ltd, an advertising sales organisation. This coincided with the acquisition of Sanglier Publications Ltd, who at the time owned the specialist magazine titles Motorhome & Motorcaravan Monthly (MMM), Which Motorcaravan and Caravan Life.
We soon moved into Newstrade distribution and established our own Exhibitions department with the launch of the National Motorhome Show at Peterborough. The success of the Distribution business rapidly led us into subscriptions fulfilment. We continued to grow over the early to mid-90s with the acquisition and launch of further magazine titles and a growing portfolio of external clients. We therefore chose to rename the business in October 1997 to what is now Warners Group Publications plc.
Today:
Despite our Plc status, we are not quoted on the stock exchange – instead we are a fully owned family business with a turnover of over £20 million per annum. In addition to the team at Bourne, we now have a publishing team based in Leeds, altogether a total of over 180 staff. Today our principal activity is in the publishing of niche consumer and trade magazines, a growing website presence and we continue to grow our very successful nationwide exhibitions, handle newstrade distribution, fulfil subscriptions and digitally print for external clients.
The Future:
Our emphasis is to continue to grow the business by offering new services, acquiring and launching new magazine titles and events and via organic growth of our existing portfolio. Our focus of offering our expertise and services to other publishers also remains.
Our company culture is based around the people in it - we aim to offer all of our teams the support and resources needed to grow and encourage everyone to participate and benefit from the company’s success via personal development and advancement.
